Cloud Backups

Many users as well as departments rely not only on regular cloud backups of their personal data being easily available but also the company data. The consequences of accidentally modifying/deleting files or emails for a company could severely damage the reputation of your business and even more so now as a result of complying with GDPR.

Contracts, emails and accounting records are being stored in digital formats more and more frequently. Therefore, it is essential for your business to backup this critical data to prevent data loss through malicious virus attack, natural disasters, hardware malfunction and human error, etc. Thus, having your own data backup solution will not only give you peace of mind but also save you time and money to rebuild your data from scratch.

Most businesses today tend to ensure that they have some form of backup solution in place to protect against a malicious virus attack, natural disasters, hardware malfunction or human error, however in our experience this often tends to be an on premise solution. This then begs the question “What happens if something occurs to the device holding the backups” – such as it’s lost, stolen or if there is a complete disaster to the building?

To protect your business in the event of the above, Proxar host a Cloud Backups solution which alleviates this predicament and works as follows:
1a. Prerequisites
Proxar IT Consulting will verify what types of Cloud Backup(s) you require.
A wide range of different Technologies are supported which include File data, Windows System State, Hyper-V, VMware, MS Exchange, MS SQL, MySQL, Office 365, Oracle database, ShadowProtect IBM Lotus Domino, Lotus Notes plus more
1b. Storage Space
We will discuss your storage space requirements and can provide you with pricing as well as cost to increase storage space in the future for business growth
1c. Configuration
Should configuration by a member of our Team be required, we can provide a quote. Alternatively should you wish to setup and configure yourself this is absolutely fine

2. Setup
A Cloud Storage account will be setup for your business. This will consist of a User account in the form of a username and password, accompanied with an encryption key (password).
Once the account has been setup, an easy to use installer will be provided and within the configuration the sources are specified with any preferences

3. Performing the Cloud Backup
Once the Cloud backup schedule has been configured, you can sit back to receive status reports on your Cloud backups and rest easy knowing your organisation’s data is now not only being backed up offsite but is encrypting from beginning to end of the process, from the moment the backup begins and is sent over the internet to one of our secure Cloud backup servers to when it reaches the destination server, the data remains encrypted.

Lack of Online Backups and Data Loss Makes Your Business Suffer:

  • Your business data goes hand in hand with your business operations. The loss of such data, or even its temporary unavailability, may threaten your hard-earned competitive position;
  • Companies without proactive backup and recovery policies are likely to be OUT OF BUSINESS within 2 years of a major disaster;
  • Loss of business data may ruin your company’s reputation, and may lead to expensive litigation;
  • Worst of all, it interrupts your business continuity.
